The Whittling Goblin
My Mission and Values

Welcome to The Whittling Goblin, my name is Ben Harbottle I am a Nottingham based wood carver and I have been traditionally whittling for over six years.
I create a wide range of wooden pieces, with a special focus on wooden jewellery. Each item is carved entirely by hand using traditional tools , allowing the natural character of the wood to guide the final design. No two pieces are ever the same — just like the trees they come from.
People have lost touch with nature
It surrounds us yet is mostly overlooked
It is capable of such beauty that most people ignore
It can heal body and mind if given the chance
And it can lift your spirits with just a glance
People have lost touch with nature
It is indeed a shame
But with my hand carved pieces
I'll bring them together again.

What I Make
Alongside my regular work, I also accept commissions and custom pieces, working with you to create something truly personal.
Wooden pendants, rings, and earrings
Hand-carved crochet needles
Spoons, utensils, cups, and bowls
Walking sticks and other functional carvings
